EG appreciation station (TI8 thread)

Now the Swedish team this TI. Unless Optic does really great. But then s4 > Zai.
-
And everyone > PPD
-
I dislike both EG and PPD
-
Agreed more or less, but now that my preferred team has seized EG (this is my view of the way this played out) I have had to, not at all opportunistically, update my views.

@beach said in EG appreciation station:
And everyone ε> PPD

So they're 0-4 so far, clearly savings strats for TI.
edit: 2-5 now, so at least they have been seen winning a game or two.
-
Hrm. Thread hibernating until TI. No further comments.

The Summit was good though. The current meta is actually still pretty interesting, despite the fact that the basic outline (i.e. dual-lanes that must be won) has been around for a bit, and the secondary fact that we have been pretty bad at it.
-
Need to warm this thread up again, EG doing great so far in the group stages.
The offlaner role is sort of interesting in those games, almost always a hero that is hard to deal with (given a good start by competent support, which is of course the part we tend to fall down on) that sticks on the lane for a very long time, basically just threatening towers until the enemy rotates over enough heroes to kill him. He then does feed away a few deaths, but no one can solo-farm on that lane, and each rotation takes a few heroes moving over there taking pressure off the map.
To some extent a bit EG-specfic, since it is no doubt a bit hard to make the case for rotating onto the offlaner when that leaves both rtz and Sumail farming in comfort, but the overall idea is reasonably adaptable.

EG = 3 of the strongest laning cores in game so when they have their shit together it's pretty good it seems, making LGD look shit.

At least one previously popular face in the list of unplayed heroes as the group stage ends:
Also my thinking that Dazzle was currently super-strong with the Poison Touch change (i.e. no longer being trash level 1) appears to not have been correct.
e: The crop looks suspicious, but that is all of them, was just uncentered on the page.

Oracle is just a better Dazzle, feelsbadman
Also techies did get banned at least.
-
Oh well, Dazzle buffs coming then. I think Shadow Wave could be buffed a bit, lot of supports that get more damage, and with Urn/Vessel being such a standard now it doesn't feel like the heal being a bit higher would be weird at all.
I do look forward to Dark Seer and Slardar buffs also. The latter I just like playing in general (the nerf to Crush were really substantial though), and the former is just a pretty fun hero that we have several people who can play. In fact I don't think it has even looked that bad in Tangos hands of late, so some buffs on top and we're golden.
Spirit Breaker is meanwhile predictably sitting at a 100% winrate (after one comedy game
), and Dark Willow at #5 most picked.

OK, so one thing is certain, it wont be EG v. Liquid in the finals.
