It is a lot of fun, absolutely recommend everyone give it a try whether on the switch or emulated.

Except for the music! It seriously has the worst music of any game I have played. Every track is 12 seconds long and repeats endlessly. It's not even possible to turn music down in the options menu so whenever I am doing shrines or beasts I just have to mute the entire game. Fortunately music is not played everywhere.
I am surprised how well the Emulator is working and how easy it was to setup. On PC you even get post processing so the graphics likely look better than on an actual Switch.

Wow, we'll have to agree to disagree I think, the musical stings are indeed short, but my experience is that they're so rare that they cannot possibly get repetitive (and I found them really charming). Like a little piano twinkle when the sun rises sort of thing. But if you really don't like them there indeed isn't a lot of variety to them.
And, yeah, as far as I understand switch emulation is super-good, and there's a few unique games on the platform.

@tango I should really move BOTW up on my list of things to play. I don't use my switch much at the minute but maybe a fresh new game will encourage me to get back on it again. We'll see how I cope with the music, given that's one of the things I really notice in games.

Everyone was saying Elden Ring is good, and they were right. Also very happy with my new controller with extra buttons on the back. Very handy to be able to switch items, use items and run without taking my hands of the analog sticks.
My solution to BOTW was to have my phone and earbuds next to me. Everytime I entered a shrine I put the earbuds in and listened to a podcast or audiobook.

Playing Pentiment, pretty nice little adventure game by Obsidian. Game Pass is great for these kinds of games, I am also more of the way through Return to Monkey Island and enjoying it a lot, but I know these are very hit or miss with me, so had I had to buy them I probably wouldn't have bothered.

Exciting end of year summary from Steam:
-
(Of course to a great extent because I've been on Game Pass for just about anything single-player.)
-
I did complete all three Dark Souls games and Elden Ring last year. Not entirely sure how I would rank them.

The Case of the Golden Idol was a really nice detective game.
Playing Cyberpunk now, it's decent, but a bit underwhelming. You have this massive elaborate city, but you just fast travel or drive through it to missions inside buildings where an objective marker tell you exactly where to go at all times.
