The first game (Returns) is good but rough, with nice story and atmosphere, but the combat is clunky and stuff like hacking is downright maddening. The second (Dragonfall) polishes stuff up and is real good. The third (Hong Kong) is simply all around great.
If you're curious but not that interested just jump into Hong Kong. In principle the games don't story-wise spoil each other, but I honestly think it'll all feel too clunky going backwards, but rather that people only play Hong Kong than miss out on that too bouncing off Returns.
Yeah, something like that. I had as the original plan to just wait it out, but it is looking like more snow so I'll have to get calling.
The state is pretty mental here too, there are fully 7 lorries having gone off the road and blocking access in the next village over. (Wind farm construction happening out there somewhere, apparently not prepared for the weather.)
Next week things will blessedly cool off. It has been two rough weeks in a small room with my computer going full tilt (ironically doing experiments for a trading venue for cooling, e.g. the hospital and power company piping ac cooling to each other). Also off work July, so lots to look forward to.
